I am not dead.

*Cue wonky eyes.

Hi Guys!

So I am not disappeared(!!!) or lying in a ditch, in case you were worried. I have simply been living life and a bit overwhelmed, I don't mind telling you. I won't blah blah blah about life in general because it is even boring to me. I had a lovely trip home to CA though. We hosted a Valentines Day theme tea party for four beautiful little girls (complete with strawberry cake!), attended a Charlie Louvin show at Spaceland (complete with two total blackouts..the lights, not me!), went to an amazing birthday party for the oddly well connected FunkyJenn (complete with VH1 producer who gave me the Rock of Love Bus SCOOP) and spent some quality VINTAGE shopping time.  I am happy to report I do have some WONDROUS vintage finds to show off in the near future.

I had a blast for the few days I was out and being the FANTASTIC blogger than I am I took like 4 photos, haha. I fail at blogging is what I am saying. I just can never remember to whip out my camera at the right moments. I carry it with me everywhere, absolutely everywhere, and I get it out at the least convenient moments exclusively. I am going to work on that in the future, for the sake of this venture if nothing else. So, without further ado, here are exactly FOUR photos I took in CA last week...

Um, so...there was that. Good times eh?

Let's talk about the good news!!

The good news is multi-faceted! It is layered! It is probably only interesting to one or two people! OK, so to begin with I am disproportionately excited to announce that I am having my GARAGE SALE next weekend!! February 28th in North Austin on the lovely, green front lawn of my cousins Megan and Nate's home (only click through to their family portrait if you want to go squeeee! and then vomit all over yourself with cute-sickness.) This is my very first garage sale as an adult and I couldn't be more pumped. Don't ask me why this is as gleeful to me as it is, I couldn't tell you. I can tell you that there will be a ton of stuff for sale, from myself AND my cuz. Megan has impeccable taste and of the not so thrifty variety so she will have some great furniture, at least one (possibly more) computer, itty bitty baby clothes from good baby labels (cause baby Stella rolls deep), and other bric-a-brac. I will be dumping a TON of clothing. Vintage, thrifted, new (lots of good labels too!) as well as a whole boat load of mens and womens clothing donated to my cause by my mom. Also kid stuff, clothes, toys and magazines and knick-knacks and accessories and, well, whatever else I can dig out of my garage. Should be pretty immense and I hope some of my Austin blog readers get to come out! We will be starting the day at 7AM and I will post the address here closer to next weekend.

I am also so frenchin excited to announce that my little shop, Magnolia Family Vintage, will be back, up and running with a lot of top shelf vintage very, very soon. Within the week! I have new models and new goods. I have been experimenting with different backgrounds for my store shots so tell me what you think. I am all about input. Anyhow, here are some sneak peeks and we hope to see you "in the store" a few days from now...

You may want to know what the hold up is with me and my ebay store lately (you may not...suck it up, it's happening.) It is a long story but what it boils down to is that my ebay store was actually DELETED. I failed to make my ebay fee payment in a timely manner and WHAM, they basically bitch-slapped me for my transgression. My fault? Yes. I still have a seller account under the name magnoliaflowervintage and I have retained all of my feedback, which is great. I was pretty heartbroken for a moment, I can't lie. But in the end this is a little destiny nudging me into working that much harder. Setbacks like this think they're going to come up in my house and I will slink away, defeated. I think not! What they don't know is that I have never, ever learned a lesson in my life the easy way. I make mistakes to learn lessons and that is the only way it has ever worked for me in 27 long years. Once a mistake is made and the consequences have stung for a minute I am back on my feet and I'll be damned if it doesn't make me that much smarter. Luckily this time the consequence is just a little more busy work and not, say, an accidental pregnancy (birth control people!!)

So right now I get to start fresh with my new, hopefully improved ebay store. I would love to get a complete revamp that would simplify and coordinate my ebay store, the myspace page, and my blog. If you or someone you know is interested in the gig let me know! I certainly can't do it myself, being that I still have to look up the html code to, say, underline. Put the word out if you know designers, dabblers, students, or magicians (you win if you know magicians). In the meantime, I will be putting my lot up for sale on ebay, just not in the pretty, pretty store I once did. C'est la vie.

Look forward! xo

Well at least now we know not to send the search party out for you..

You never invoiced me! And now I'm going to NM and can't use the PayPal account until I come back. :/ (Long story: account isn't mine, must ask for use). So invoice me when you can and I pay when I get back on March 3 :)

Good to have you blogging again, missy.

About how often would you say people tell you you look JUST like Kate Hudson? Two, three times a week?

Is that the arm of Frankie Lee? I'm trying to put this all together right now...

Meghan-Yes, actually. I take it you know him? Weird!

I met him through Steve Poltz, and then became a fan of his music. I love that tat. Is the other arm yours?

Oh my god, scratch that last comment. I just looked again and noticed the abundance of manly forearm hair. Nevermind! Can I tell you that I'm obsessed with your blog? You have an incredible eye my dear.

Meghan- haha, yes that is my husbands arm! Frank is a cool guy. Apparently my husband and he are now planning a side project called "The Golden Poppies." They think they are sooooo clever :)

garconniere- well, when the pantsuit does officially go up for sale you may be happy to know it is a size 10 or 12. It is pinned up like crazy! Those pants though...yeah those pants are WEE.
